According to this act, the main motto is to decrease the flow of sewage flow into lakes and create an action plan in the betterment and make habitats towards aquatic biodiversity, which will also include wild plants and water birds.
But the opposition parties including JD (S) and BJP highlighted lacuna. S. Suresh Kumar, former minister and one of the member in BJP took the act of defining the lake and said “lake is nothing than an inland water bodies, whether or not it has water in it. This kind of inclusion into the act will make the lake development authority ridiculous and tough because it may affect lacs and lacs of people who live on the layout launched near to many dried lakes and dams. H.D.Kumaraswamy,former CM and JD(S) leader stated that the civic body will come forward and deal with important places like bus terminus, railway tract and many were launched near to several dried dams and lakes. T.B. Jayachandra, law minister explained the civic body to make a provision which can eliminate such difficulties. According to YSV Datta and JD(S) members, chances for section 49 to be misused in order to favor property market and they have launched several housing units.
